Worcester Tri Club’s first event of the year took place on Sunday 2nd March. The Peopleton Duathlon was a great success with over 100 competitors taking part and a new shorter distance race taking place as well as the usual standard distance race. Spirits were not dampened by the wet weather and the club received lots of positive feedback from competitors and spectators.

The overall winner of the short distance race in the female category was Tracey Attwood and the male winner was Edward Dursley.

In the standard distance race, prizes were awarded for the following categories; open male and female, vet male and female, super vet male and female and ultra veteran.

Marianne Scott won the female open race in a time of 1hr 35mins and Ben Price won the male open race in a time of 1hr 15mins. The winners of the vet male and female categories were David Mole and Debbie Bradley. The super vet winners were Nick Brent and Nicola Turvey. Rob Reynolds won the super vet category.

Worcester Tri Club members were out in force and produced some great results. In particular Daniel Geisler finished a very creditable 4th  overall after only recently recovering from illness.
