Phil Parsons

Phil Parsons

President

Former amateur rugby player who found triathlon in a vain attempt to keep fit. Completed quite a few tris at most distances and in quite a few different countries in those 20 years. Now entering the twilight of competitive activity and taking up the President after a number of years on the committee as Treasurer and apprentice race assistant to the infamous Les Bailey.

Always up for a new challenge whether it be a triathlon, obstacle race or a bit of Mountain Biking fun at the Forest of Dean. Triathlon isn’t just about times it’s about friendships & fun.

Member since 2014. Aston Villa fan first and foremost, unable triathlete across all distances and always looking for new and interesting races to complete. Favourite part of training Bike. Worst part of training running.

Jason Bloomer

Jason Bloomer

Treasurer

I’ve been involved in Triathlon for over 20 years and stick to Sprint or Olympic distance events in order to balance work, family & training (And my favourite activity of sleeping)

I have two targets in every race I do: 1) Don’t die & 2) Don’t come last, so far so good, especially on the first one 😁

Chaz Taylor

Chaz Taylor

Secretary

I’ve been a member of Worcester Tri Club for 15 years. Currently I’m the secretary but also help arrange our swim activities such as the open water sessions and pool sessions. When I’m not swimming, I avoid running but love riding my bikes (Mountain, cyclo cross and road). Not one for doing races as you have to run but enjoy training and taking part.

Kirk Denton

Membership officer

About 10 years ago I watched an Ironman event on Channel 4. It looked like my thing so I entered it…it later dawned on me what I needed to do, I joined Worcester Tri club who very patiently introduced me to triathlons and helpfully taught me to swim. Ten years on I’m still involved, I organise Worcester Lakeside Triathlon and take part in as many random events that I can, while juggling work and family life. Swimming is still a struggle, many people get a ‘well done’ after a swim, I get a ‘are you o.k?’….

I discovered Triathlon in 2003 after years of cycling to work and then joined the club in 2004 which helped to improve my swim. Around 2009 took over as Droitwich Sprint race director.

Attended my first training camp in 2010 abroad earning my now infamous nickname ‘Deadly’.  I also run the popular strength and conditioning sessions since 2013.  This is a great club, made some great friends over the years. Hoping to continue to enjoy the sport for as long as my knees will hold out!

Club Kit

I am a sports fan that doesn’t have a strong discipline in triathlon but enjoys putting them all together to make an average triathlete! I am a member of a local tennis club and compete in the Hereford and Worcester tennis leagues, but most importantly I’m a Swansea City season ticket holder!
